If you are a regional business owner then you may be interested in the Queensland Government’s two-year $150 million Back to Work Regional Employment Package. The package aims to provide support for employers to take on new employees in regions outside of South East Queensland that are doing it tough. Payments up to $20,000 are available for businesses that employ eligible jobseekers.

Targeting jobseekers who are traditionally disadvantaged in the job market, the package aims to help youth, long-term unemployed, mature jobseekers, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and more.

Applications for the Back to Work Program must be made through the QGrants system and eligibility criteria apply. Employers interested in participating in the program must ensure that their business, the job being offered and the jobseeker being employed meet the eligibility criteria.
