In the lead up to the holidays, our team was busy spreading Christmas cheer by supporting a number of charitable causes. From volunteering their time to spreading good will through the gift of food, our team came together to share in the true spirit of Christmas.
In January of last year, our staff set an annual target of giving 100 donations to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service Red25 initiative. Our generous team rolled up their sleeves a total of 104 times across the year! With every donation helping to save three lives, our team were proud to have exceeded their target, reaching 312 lives saved.
For the second year running, our team donned their yellow Santa hats and elf ears to help fill buckets of joy for the Yellow Bucket Appeal. The initiative hosted by YellowBridge QLD aimed to spread Christmas cheer through distributing gourmet food hampers to individuals and families in need.
Being the competitive bunch that we are, our team set a target of filling 40 buckets – that’s ten more than last year. After just ten days, our team, their families and our clients and supporters, filled a total of 60 buckets! It was a great effort by all and contributed to the total 300 buckets packed, wrapped and delivered by the YellowBridge Queensland team.
Lending a hand at Toowoomba’s iconic Christmas Wonderland event were 13 of our staff and their family members. Together, they had a wonderful time volunteering to show their support to Lifeline Darling Downs and South West QLD Ltd, the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and the Toowoomba Hospice.
From helping out at the gates and pouring tea and coffee, to cooking up a storm on the barbeque for the masses, our team showed their commitment to the cause.
Each night, the event played host to over 2,000 people who made their way through the path of glistening light displays, listening to Christmas carols and watching the entertainment on the main stage for the evening. A wonderful event and a great cause we were proud to support.
